Would you like to enjoy one of the most fun activities in El Calafate? Dare to do a minitrekking in the Perito Moreno Glacier! The trip begins with the trip from El Calafate to the Bajo de las Sombras port (about an hour and a half), where you embark to cross the Rico Lake. Groups of up to 20 people are formed, who make a 20-minute walk to the glacier and, once with the crampons, the ascent begins. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and you can enjoy the ice formations; know about the flora, fauna and glaciology of the region; and especially on the phenomenon of glacier rupture. Then, return to the refuge through the Magellanic forest and from there, cross the Rich Arm of Lago Argentino to sail in front of the glacier. You can also enjoy the view of Perito Moreno from the walkways. Restrictions: This excursion due to the physical exigency and difficulty of the terrain is only suitable for people between 10 and 65 years old and have a good physical condition. NOT overweight people should participate; to this end, those exceeding the following criteria shall be considered: weight in kg greater than twice the height in cm minus 100 (for example for a height of 1,70 m: 170 minus 100 = 70 x 2 = 140); pregnant women; persons with any degree or type of physical or mental disability affecting their care, walking and / or coordination, persons suffering from central or peripheral cardiovascular disease, their cardiac or vascular capacities are impaired, or they use stents, pacemakers or other prostheses; (eg, anticoagulants, grade III varices - those that are thick and multiple - cardiac arrhythmias), people suffering from diseases that cause respiratory disabilities (COPD, asthma, emphysema, etc.).
