The perfect combination of trekking in the forest, with a view of waterfalls, rivers, hanging glaciers and a visit to the Perito Moreno glacier. The Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro glaciers are located within Seno Mayo of Lago Argentino and Los Glaciares National Park. The only way to access them is by lake.
Departing from Punta Bandera (Puerto Argentino), we will navigate through the Icebergs Channel and enter the Mayo Sound of Lake Argentino. for We will disembark in Bahía Toro and, accompanied by a guide, we will take an interpretive walk through the Andean Patagonian Forest (composed of cherries, cinnamon, lengas and ñires) until we reach a centenary cherry specimen that has a trunk of more than three meters of diameter. Next, we will go through the forest until we reach a stream, which is fed by a waterfall, from where we can observe a formation of calcareous rocks whose palisade measures approximately 180 meters high and 100 meters wide. We will stay at this point until the moment we return to the ship that will take us to the next destination. Departing from Bahía Toro, we will continue navigating the Seno Mayo of Lago Argentino from where we will observe the hanging glaciers of Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro. Then, we will disembark together with the guide and begin a walk, of approximately 1,000 meters, entering the Andean Patagonian Forest; Following the path of a stream we will guide ourselves until we reach the stone wall from where we will observe the aforementioned hanging glaciers and we will enjoy, with 360 ° panoramic views, a wonderful landscape that will leave us astonished. We will stay at the site for a while, observing Cerro Mayo and Cerro Blanco, and then we will return to the boat that will take us to the north wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Once there we will disembark at the floating dock of Puerto Moreno, located at the foot of the catwalks, to make way for the tour of the same. At the end, according to the itinerary of each passenger, they will return to the city of El Calafate.
