What will you do?

The beginning of the day begins at the Nibepo Aike ranch at 10:00 am, located within Los Glaciares National Park, on the banks of Lake Roca. The host guide will welcome you to the Estancia and will accompany you to the barbecue area, where you will be invited with a hot drink (tea, coffee or mate) accompanied by homemade pastries. A good pause to enjoy a magnificent view of the Andes Mountains.

Beginning of the walk to visit the facilities of a typical Patagonian ranch that was formerly dedicated to sheep production and that today has been transformed into the most prestigious Hereford cabin in these latitudes and that also maintains a flock of sheep .

After the walk or horseback ride, the group meets at the door of the shearing shed. An opportunity to get to know a shed with all its competent staff and understand the work of the shearing troupes. The process will be explained from the shearing of the animal to the assembly of the wool bale, the way in which the wool is stored and transported. As a system, manual scissors will be used as it was done in the past in all the rooms until the appearance of the mechanical handle with a cutting comb, a much faster and more practical system.

In the surrounding corrals, the riders wait to make a "test of reins" demonstration or, depending on the rural activities of the day, farm work will be done. These activities are subject to weather conditions.

Returning to the Quincho where a lamb is being roasted on the stake, emphasis will be placed on the history of the place and recall anecdotes and stories of the first settlers. Once they arrive at the Quincho, the Asador will have the roast ready for diners to enjoy a delicious Patagonian lamb while enjoying the impressive view of the Cordillera. Meanwhile, life on the ranch continues and it is common to see the gauchos on horseback herding cattle and/or sheep and getting lost on the horizon.
