Get to know this World Heritage Site! We invite you to take this 3-hour walk through the famous Perito Moreno Glacier
We depart from the Puerto´´Bajo de las Sombras´´, located just over 70 km from the town of El Calafate, we will sail for approximately 10 minutes crossing the Rico arm to meet the majestic and imposing southern wall of the Perito Glaciar Moreno.
We will disembark at Bahía Puma, just 500 meters from the famous glacier, where expert guides will welcome us. From here, a walk of about an hour begins along the shore of the lake and then along the moraine next to the ice (terrain of rocks and unstable land).
Crampons and helmets are provided just a few meters from the "Cascada de las Cotorras" to then form groups of no more than 10 people per guide, ensuring personalized attention.
The circuit on the glacier presents a medium/high level of difficulty, with an irregular but firm and safe surface. We walk at a steady pace with few stops, covering approximately 5 km on terrain of rocks, soil, and ice with crampons.
In this experience, you can appreciate crevasses, seracs, sinkholes, and small turquoise-colored lagoons, all while delving into this World Heritage Site.
Upon concluding the ice trek, we will visit the base of the waterfall. From there, we walk back to Bahía Puma before boarding for the return journey to "Bajo de las Sombras" Port, enjoying a 30-minute sail, always attentive to the ice wall in case of witnessing a detachment while enjoying a glass of whisky with ice from the Perito Moreno Glacier itself.
Upon arrival at the port, if you have chosen the option with transportation, we will transfer to the walkways of the National Park, where for an hour you can explore its self-guided trails and marvel at the incredible panoramic views offered by the Perito Moreno Glacier.
